May 02,2017 16:31

A trilateral meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia took place in Moscow last week. The widespread message was not prompting any significant progress. It was a regular meeting, before which Azerbaijan again created tension over the border, and we had victims. We have asked an assessment about the meeting from Artsakh President’s spokesman David Babayan.

-After the April War, during the first meeting of the presidents, security, investigation mechanisms were suggested to invest. Although Azerbaijan ignored them, did not do anything in that regard, and the international community does not endeavor to force the issue. It seems that the Armenian side does not speak much about it… He has said: Do we cope with the behavior of Azerbaijan.

-Naturally, we have not got along with the position of Azerbaijan. We always voice it. Yes, Azerbaijan neglected that request, but agreed in Saint Petersburg on the refinement and application of those mechanisms. Simply it agrees respective to its behavior, but it hesitated. This does not mean that we have rejected that position, on the contrary, we are in favor of the input of those mechanisms. Parallel to this, we strengthen our borders to keep peace.

How stable our border is, there will be a peaceful situation in the region present as well. Even during this meeting, those mechanisms have been spoken of. This is an issue of negotiation agenda. This is a direction, that will prevail during the forthcoming meetings.
