STEPANAKERT, MAY 5, ARTSAKHPRESS: Arman Grigoryan, Head of the Department of Tourism of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Artsakh, said in an interview with “Artsakhpress”.
“Cleaning and excavation works have been implemented in the reserve by the members of the Service of Historic Environment Protection SNCO. 24 tombstones have been excavated, which date back to the 17-18th centuries. Most of them contain records.
There are also some tombstones depicting hunting and party scenes,” said the head of the department, adding that if they continue works, new discoveries will be, because according to historical facts, Melik’s gravestones should be in the necropolis.
