On 6 May, the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan visited the Delegation of the European Union to Armenia to mark the occasion of Europe Day 2017. Sargsyan met with Ambassador Piotr Świtalski, Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, to discuss EU-Armenia relations and cooperation.
Europe Day is organised on 9 May every year to celebrate peace and unity in Europe.
This year, the EU Delegation is organising a classical concert with the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra, with the participation of the “Children of Armenia” choir and pupils from art schools across the country.
Prior to the concert, the pupils have been creating paintings depicting capital cities of Member States, European landscapes and other scenes that they associate with Europe and peace. Selected paintings will be shown during the concert and exhibited in the lobby area of the Aram Khachaturian concert hall for three days.
