“Zhoghovurd” newspaper has talked to Edmon Maruqyan, who’s managing the office of the “Yelq” alliance during the elections of the mayor of Yerevan.
-Mr. Maruqyan, during one of the press conferences, Zaruhi Postanjyan has announced that Nikol Pashinyan and the “Yelq” alliance supports Serzh Sargsyan and that’s why they accepted the spurious parliamentary elections on April 2. And considering that Nikol Pashinyan “won’t appear at the town hall”, but at the National Assembly, therefore, they don’t have a problem with him, and will fight next to Serzh Sargsyan. How will you comment on these statements of Postanjyan?
– You know, I’ve not listened to Zaruhi’s press conference, so I cannot comment on this. But I will watch and comment on it if necessary, though I don’t think there will be a need to do that. Our spokesman follows those things and if he hasn’t told me that there has been such a conference, then it’s not that important.
-Don’t you take the announcements of your opponent seriously?
-What kind of opponent can Mrs. Postanjyan be for us? There is not such a thing.
-When you don’t fight together, then you fight against each other.
-We don’t fight against Mrs. Postanjyan, but we think Mrs. Postanjyan does fight against us. We are fighting to change the authoritative powers in Yerevan, and not just against one individual.
