The ‘Yelq’ candidates for Yerevan City Council wrapped up their campaign at North Avenue. During the last campaign meeting, Edmon Maruqyan shared his courtyard impressions: “The strength we are receiving from every yard destroys every Adibekyan survey”.
According to him, when the ‘Yelq’ alliance was being founded, he had a belief that starting from that day, the political system of the Republic of Armenia would not have the palette it had at that moment: “That belief was confirmed on April 2, today we are living in another political palette and in another situation. Changes have been made to the foundation of ‘Yelq’.” Edmon Maruqyan believes that before the parliamentary elections there was a chance to direct those alterations toward the change of powers, but as much as on April 2 the citizens took advantage of it, as a result, we did not achieve the change of powers, but the subversion of the majority of the parliament.”
Mr. Maruqyan said that he does not want to talk about the lost chance after the city council elections: “The citizens of Yerevan should not miss this chance on the 14th of May. This time we do not have the right not to be a part of the elections, slow the process down and let RPA be reproduced with his election bribe and administrative resources, this time in Yerevan”.
He urged that even if it hails, or rains without a stop or snows, everyone should go and be a part of the elections.
