‘OSCE could not protect its rights:’ Alexander Markarov

May 12,2017 18:47

Political scientist Alexander Markarov thinks that the closing of the OSCE office of Armenia is first of all the defeat of OSCE itself. The political scientist explained his opinion at a press conference, saying that OSCE couldn’t protect its rights.

“The cooperation of OSCE and Armenia has always been exemplary. It was directed toward democracy and the development of the human rights. In this case OSCE was the one interested in having its representatives in the Republic of Armenia.  OSCE became a victim of the actions of one of its members, whose properties were not appropriate for OSCE’s activities,”- announced Alexander Markarov.

The political scientist thinks that as a result of the closing of the of the OSCE office of Armenia, Armenia and Azerbaijan are also among the losers. He thinks that in this whole story, Azerbaijan proved that he is not capable of playing with the rules of that international company.

And as to Armenia, according to Alexander Markarov, we showed our political and diplomatic weakness once more.

The spokesman thinks that the activities of the OSCE’s Armenian office in different departments of Armenia and in the works of public organizations were positive. So he considers the shutting down of the office not only the defeat of the country, but the defeat of everyone.
