As it’s the Yerevan City Council elections, pre minister Karen Karapetyan voted at 4/53 polling station.
When talking to the journalists about the documents assuming giving away of bribes, that were exposed by the “Yelq” alliance, the prime minister said: “I haven’t seen them, but have heard about it.”
Karen Karapetyan thinks that with every passing year the elections in Armenia are becoming more fair and transparent. However, about the case of “Yelq” claiming that they are giving away bribes, the prime minister was suspicious: “During all elections, something like this happens. But can we be sure that it’s a bribe? The law enforcement authorities are dealing with this case now. We are doing conclusions based on just a single material and a paper. We do want to become a lawful country, don’t we? Then let’s wait and see what the law enforcement authorities will say.”
Recently Karen Karapetyan was interviewed by a correspondent of the Austrian public radio and during the interview, he had said he was ready to be the prime minister of Armenia after 2018. To the questions whether it was just a desire of a prime minister or he already had an agreement with President Serj Sargsyan, Karen Karapetyan answered: “My dears, how can you write about it every day? We’ll see.”
And about the problems about the public transport of the capital city, Karen Karapetyan said: “I consider it a bad way of people’s transportation. That’s why I’m sure that Taron Margaryan will implement his vision. We have a limited finance, so we’ll take one step at a time.”
