May 17,2017 19:34

“Iran has its own domestic and foreign policy agendas. I do not think, in the case of becoming the president, any one of those candidates will officially recognize the Armenian Genocide”, during the press conference said expert Artyom Tonoyan, referring to the statement of Iranian Majlis deputy Karen Khanlarian, according which the Iranian-Armenian community raises issues to the presidential candidates about Armenian Genocide recognition and preservation of Armenian cultural heritage in Iran.

“Iran is an Islamic republic. However warm the relation will be with the RA, we need to be pessimistic on the Recognition of Armenian Genocide,” Artyom Tonoyan expressed his confidence.

As for culture, the expert said that Armenian churches are very well preserved in Iran, especially, in historic Atrpatakan, “There is no religious pressure on the community. Iran is doing all possible things to preserve the cultural heritage.”
