Eduard Sharmazanov: Our national goal is building strong and competitive Armenia

On May 24, the RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov met with the students of the Political Science Department of the Faculty of International Relations of Yerevan State University.

The meeting with the RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov went on in Q & A format. The questions related to the perspectives of our country’s development in both political and economic context, the RA-EU and the RA-EEU relations, the foreign political processes, the regional problems, particularly the NK conflict settlement, the border escalation, the parliamentary system of government and other problems.

Touching upon the policy pursued by the RA authorties, Mr Sharmazanov talked about the programme speech of the RA President Serzh Sargsyan at the NA sitting, highlighting the fact that the head of the state presented the vision of the development, progress and security of our country not in short-term, but also in long-term and strategic directions.

“Our national goal is building strong and competitive Armenia with a new strong generation: it is the wealth of the Republic of Armenia,” Eduard Sharmazanov added.

Talking about the NA conflict settlement, the NA Deputy Speaker underlined: “The NA conflict settlement is not a regional dispute: our problem is the exercise of the right to the Artsakh people’s self-determination. Our goal is to make Artsakh people’s will obligatory for everybody.”

The RA NA Deputy Speaker emphasized the Armenian people’s cohesion and tolerance and added that only in that case we can register success both in the external and internal political processes.

Mr Sharmazanov also talked about the RA-EU and the RA-EEU relations and the upcoming works to be done, underscoring that our country pursues balanced policy in the foreign political processes.
