No drastic changes in operational situation on the Line of Contact between Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (Artsakh/NKR) and Azerbaijan have been observed in period from 21 May to 27.
As the Press Service of the NKR Defense Ministry told Panorama.am, during the week the Azerbaijani forces violated the ceasefire more than 550 times from weapons of different calibers. In addition, the adversary applied 60, 82mm mortars and rocket-propelled anti-tank and automatic grenade launchers at various directions of the Contact Line.
As a result of the Azerbaijani ceasefire violations, Armen Harutyunyan (b. 1996), an Artsakh contract soldier, sustained a fatal gunshot wound on May 26 in one of the military posts of the Karabakh Defense Army located in the northern direction of the Line of Contact.
Karabakh frontline units took countermeasures to suppress the Azerbaijani activeness and continued confidently fulfilling their military tasks.
