An RPA deputy Hrayr Tovmasyan previously was the NA Chief of Staff. To the question whether Ara Babloyan’s reductions in the NA mean that during Tovmasyan’s office everything was exaggerated, the latter answered, “I reduced 56 NA staff during my term of office”. To the remark that as in fact, there is a need to cut down more, means that there was much exaggeration, he said, “I can’t say. There is always a need of reduction in any institutions”.
In response to the question how many cars were reduced during his term of office, when a clamour was raised about the office cars, he said, “If I’m not mistaken 36 cars were reduced. A part of them were function, the rest were out of order”.
Hrayr Tovmasyan received an order from president Serzh Sargsyan for his services to the homeland. This gave rise to various interpretations-the president had awarded Hrayr Tovmasyan in December, what services had he delivered to his country in this short period to be awarded the second time? Hrayr Tovmasyan answered, “I just received my December’s award. Since I was missing the last time, I received it now. Of course, I wouldn’t be awarded twice for services to the homeland. Koryun Nahapetyan and I were out of the country, and we both received our orders with delay. The same order may not be awarded to the same person twice, according to the law on state awards. However, it was possible in Soviet”.
