May 31,2017 14:50

“The closure of the OSCE office is only a closure of a chapter and it’s an opening of new ways of working together. The OSCE will continue to remain engaged in many ways, in assistance of elections, as the Minister just mentioned is one of those. There are important programs on the way, programs in which OSCE is engaged either alone or in cooperation with other international partners, and using these partners is a tool to continue our engagement in future”, said the OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier during the talk with journalists after the meeting with the RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Eduard Nalbandyan at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to him, although the OSCE Office in Yerevan was closed, the organization can continue to assist the RA in certain areas but there is a need to discuss financial issues, “We need to discuss some issues with the RA government. For this purpose, we will meet some time. That will be a good opportunity to discuss the issues”. Then the OSCE Secretary General mentioned, “I am sorry that the office is closed. We are trying to find ways to continue implementing our programs here”.
