According to the president of the International Centre for Human Development, Edgar Khachatryan, nation-army is Armenia’s conception of foreign policy, “Armenia is a militarized country, which increasingly becomes more militarized. What does the nation-army concept mean for a country like Armenia? How does Armenia appear before the world? If looking at this from that angle, why should Armenia’s message to the world be formulated by the Ministry of Defence? It indicates that the country is militarized.
It turns out that the message our country sends to the world is that any citizen is a soldier here. Is this the message that we want to tell the world? Is this the message indicating that the Republic of Armenia will develop only in this direction soon? What about the actual problems-political crisis, corruption, etc.? Does the nation-army concept offer solutions? Does it offer a solution for Armenia’s economic growth? What solutions does it offer?”, said Mr Khachatryan.
