“There are more than 30 independent expert opinions on Amulsar”, said the president of “EcoLur” Informational NGO, Inga Zarafyan during a press conference on June 3. In her opinion, the project of Amulsar is merely a political decision, and the project is supported by the US and British embassies, “If we consider the Sevan commission, it expressed a very harsh negative opinion in 2012, studying all the risks. After two years they expressed their positive opinion. We addressed the commission with an official request, to provide us with justifications”.
Inga Zarafyan noted that the time limit to exploit the mine is 10 years, “Our government must call the organization to account, and demand some guarantees. I think those should be financial guarantees. As far as I know, there are no such financial guarantees”.
