June 12,2017 19:41

“Homeland begins in Talish”. Entering a Talish school, this note on the wall is the first to capture attention. Just the school is not in paternal Talish, but in Alishan resort center, where a part of Talish people settled down after the Azerbaijan cannonade on April and set an educational center in one of the buildings.

Sahakyan Hermine is a teacher of Armenian language and literature. During the interview, she said, that the number of pupils in Alashan is much smaller than it was in Talish. Then she remembered the April military operations, “At dawn shots became more horrific. We had to leave the village with my three young children in my brother’s car”.

The teacher pointed out that the mental state of pupils living in the conflict zone is different, they are feeling and experiencing the horrors of war, “April war shattered their childhood. They dream about a nice childhood”.

The director of Talish secondary school Tanya Mezhunts, in turn, said that pupils want to return to Talish, “When you ask boys, they say they want to become soldiers”. Then, Mrs. Sahakyan confessed that she will continue teaching there in hope that everything will be fine in future.

Currently, the school has 25 pupils, instead of the previous 100.
