“Your relationships with Iran does not matter to NATO, at all. You are in a partnership framework, you are a sovereign nation and you decide your relationship frameworks with other countries and allies. If for example, they want to involve embargo towards Iran, this is also the decision of the sovereign nations and let me say, the nations mostly avoid of embargos, they want to cease any embargo, but that is not NATO’s matter as well, that is the matter of the member countries and their allies”, replied William, Lahue, Head of the NATO Liaison Office in Georgia/ NATO Liaison Officer in South Caucasus, to the question whether there is a possibility for NATO to change its policy towards Iran and the region taking into consideration anti-Iranian announcements by the US, Armenia, and Iran are partners.
