“Currently there is no such question in our agenda in Armenia”, said the ARF faction secretary Aghvan Vardanyan. It is about changing the anthem of Armenia.
Let us remind that renowned singer Charles Aznavour had told the Le Club de Richard Findykian radio program that his “Pour toi Armenie” (“For you, Armenia”) song might become Armenia’s new anthem. “’Pour toi Arménie’ may become a new anthem, this is what I wish. President Serzh Sargsyan, and not only him, agree with me”, he had told.
There are also discussions about Aram Khachaturian’s composed anthem, and Tigran Mansuryan’s “I love my sweet Armenia”.
Aghvan Vardanyan does not want to discuss a question which, as he noted, is not in Armenia’s agenda.
In response to the question, what position the ARF will take if these discussions become serious, he said that he does not answer “if” questions.
