‘If sniper shot, he had seen the target’: Tevan Poghosyan urges to reset Azerbaijan’s opportunities

June 21,2017 13:36

Tevan Poghosyan, the president of the International Center for Human Development and former MP is convinced that the Armenian side should develop a new strategy. Touching upon the encroachments taken by the enemy in recent days on the Artsakh-Azerbaijani border as a result of which the Armenian side had four victims, Tevan Poghosyan asked: “Do we have to wait, to be a defending side again, or should not allow new tensions by attacking?”

According to Tevan Poghosyan, the Armenian army leadership should consider some issues: “The next day after the incident when we had a victim by a sniper shot, a question arose if a sniper shot, so he had seen the target. So we have an open point. The problem should be changed. Azerbaijan’s possibilities should be set to zero. It is clear that in this case, it will show tactics of long-range shots and we should be ready for it.” Tevan Poghosyan reminded that Azerbaijan is buying new weapons, so one day it will use them. ”Let us take it easy that exercises may take place in Azerbaijan every day but we must take measures to keep our army alive.” Let us remind that yesterday the OSCE Minsk Group issued a statement summarizing the regional visit.
