Czech Ambassador Piotr Mikeska does not consider that EU Ambassador Piotr Switalski’s statement is an intervention into Armenia’s domestic affairs.
“I think, that some statements and some officials’ statements are a result of exaggeration. It is the Armenian government that asked international donor organizations to assist in the technical process in the electoral process. If the observation mission came to the conclusion that some things were not compatible with the elections, I do not see a reason for which Switalski could not express his opinion”, said the ambassador, noting that the Czech Republic also supported the election observation mission in Armenia.
Touching upon Armenian-Czech political relations, the ambassador said that bilateral relations are at a high level, then informed that Czech parliament speaker will visit Armenia this fall, “Eduard Sharmazanov, NA Vice President, will be received in Prague next month. Justice Minister David Harutyunyan will also visit the Czech Republic in July”.
Let us remind that weeks ago Piotr Switalski criticized the elections held in Armenia, which met strong contradictions expressed by RPA officials.
