On 23 and 24 June, 32 judges and judicial servants from Armenia travelled to Strasbourg to improve their knowledge and skills on the liability for torture and other forms of ill-treatment and learn about the relevant case-law of the European Court of Human Rights.
The visit aimed at strengthening the capacity of the country’s judiciary to apply Article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights in national judgments.
The event was organised within the scope of the project on “Supporting the criminal justice reform and combating ill-treatment and impunity in Armenia”, which is being funded by the European Union and Council of Europe Partnership for Good Governance (formerly the “Programmatic Cooperation Framework”) in the Eastern Partner Countries over the period 2015-2017.
