Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan replied to the questions on the beating of “Sasna Tsrer” group member Arayik Khandoyan, stating that he is working on it. “We have received messages from lawyers, not solely from lawyers. I have ordered, based on those messages, to implement visits, now they are just finishing, the response will be ready later”, told Mr. Tatoyan.
Let us remind you that Avan and Nor Nork administrative district common jurisdiction court had received an alert implying that Arayik Khandoyan has been subject to beatings.
Asked whether the lawyers entering courts or penitentiary institutions are searched or not, Mr. Tatoyan replied that a thing is evident – to conduct a personal search of the lawyer when implementing his responsibilities is impermissible: “The whole issue is as follows: which is the difference between an examination and a search. We have written an official note, we have nominated a set of questions. The first is: on what legal grounds are they being implemented? What information is received reasonably? etc. When finished the conclusion of the answers, we will share it with you”: reported Arman Tatoyan.
