The US Embassy in Armenia has organized a reception on the occasion of 241st anniversary of the US Independence.
The US Ambassador to the Republic of Armenia Richard Mills, speaking of the 25-year diplomatic relations between the US and the Republic of Armenia, recalled an interesting episode from the years when he was a Department of State official and the US had recognized Armenia’s Independence.
The Ambassador tells, that during an event, erroneously a red, blue and yellow colored flag was represented as the flag of Armenia, for which he received a rebuke from his superior. Mr. Mills remembers that in finding Armenia’s Tricolor flag the local Armenian church helped him. He was able to get the red, blue and apricot colored flag of the Republic of Armenia from the church.
