On June 30, within the framework of visit to Slovakia the delegation led by the RA NA Deputy Speaker, Head of Armenia- Slovakia Friendship Group Eduard Sharmazanov, comprised of the RA NA deputies Gagik Melikyan and Vardan Bostanjyan met with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs Lukáš Parízek and the Head of Slovakia-Armenia Friendship Group Dušan Tittel.
The sides touched upon the possibilities of the development of bilateral relations. The members of the delegation have underlined that Armenia is concerned over the development of the political dialogue with Slovakia.
The sides discussed the current level of Armenia-European Union relations and issues concerning the perspectives of development. In this context Mr Sharmazanov has expressed conviction that Armenia is the part of the system of European values and civivilisation and continues the reforms aimed at strengthening of democratic structures.
Touching upon the regional problems, the RA NA Deputy Speaker talked about the Azerbaijani provocations taking place on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and the Artsakh-Azerbaijani line of contact, because of which there are casualties. “Azerbaijan is the only responsible of bilateral losses on Artsakh-Azerbaijani line of contact,” Eduard Sharmazanov noted. He has added that in its turn Turkey escalates the regional tension, keeping closed the border with Armenia and supporting the terrorist actions of Azerbaijan.
The sides highlighted the necessity of fighting against terrorist acts growing in the world. “We should unite against the attempts of terrorism, xenophobia and solving the problems through military,” Eduard Sharmazanov said.
Within the framework of the visit the delegation led by Eduard Sharmazanov laid a wreath at the cross-stone eternalizing the memory of the Armenian Genocide victims installed in Bratislava.
