“It is a violation of international law. Azerbaijan has ratified all relevant documents, which obliges him to deploy all military facilities on a certain distance from residential areas. And if they are stationed in or near residential areas, the residence also becomes a military object”, said international law expert Taron Simonyan. Let us remind, that on July 4, during evening, the Azerbaijani side used a rocket-propelled grenade against the Armenian side from its own residential area, and as a result of the Armenian response, a woman and a child were killed.
According to Taron Simonyan, Azerbaijan tries to manipulate the incident on all international platforms, saying that Armenians are aggressors and do not respect the methods and means of warfare. According to the expert, if in this case, the Azerbaijani military object was located in the residential area, then last year in April the target of the Azerbaijani side was the Armenian school and the child who was going to school, that was killed. “That is a gross violation of humanitarian law”, noted Simonyan.
