If a certain suggestion is made by Raffi Hovhannisian, the alliance will discuss it: “We have announced before as well that we do not exclude the scenario of “Velvet Revolution”. Dependent upon Raffi Hovhannisian’s suggestion, we will discuss that suggestion for sure. The realization of such scenario I do not exclude at all”, told “Yelq” bloc spokesperson, Yerevan City Council member Tigran Avinyan.
Let us remind you that the leader of “Heritage” party Raffi Hovhannisian has announced that in April of 2018, ahead of the end of the president’s term of office, a change of authority is to be reached via “velvet” revolution. The leader of “Heritage” does not exclude the street fight and urges both parliamentary and non-parliamentary forces to unite. He has told in days that if Nikol Pashinyan, Edmon Marukyan and Aram Sargsyan wish, “Heritage” is ready to cooperate.
As stated by Tigran Avinyan, it is still early to speak of “velvet” revolution format: “It is very important that a public demand is in place towards that step. People should present a certain demand to the political forces which will be competent and authorized to fulfill such operations. Difficult is to make predictions. Previously calm periods have been in place, after which rally moods have manifested, for example – the fight against the increase of transport tariffs, “Electric Yerevan”. The seeming calmness sometimes bursts and converts into street protests.”
The spokesperson noted that if a certain suggestion is made by Raffi Hovhannisian, they are open for discussions: “We have been open for discussions with “Heritage” previously as well. Nothing has changed now. We will simply exclude the scenario of the armed fight.”
