Armenian youth discuss their country’s potential to develop renewable energy

July 13,2017 15:11

Raising awareness among young people about energy efficiency, renewable energy and energy saving was the focus of the “Youth energy clubs” seminar which took place from 3 to 7 July. The seminar was organised in the Shirak region of Armenia as part of the EU-supported Civil Society Local Energy Network (CLEEN) project.

Participants learned how to repair wood windows for houses and learned the main methods for saving energy in simple ways.

The seminar period coincided with the celebrations of EU Sustainable Energy Week in Armenia and the participants had the chance to take part in one of the meetings. In particular, they joined in with a discussion entitled “What is Armenia’s potential for developing renewable energy and how can it affect community development?” This was organised as part of the EU Energy Days by the “Inno4Dev” project, which is implemented by Kolba Lab and co-funded by the EU.

The CLEEN project is a three-year project promoting the development of a regional partnership of more than 30 civil society organisations in the four project countries: Armenia, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. Its main focus is to make energy efficiency a more important topic for the target regions.
