Village of ruined houses: formerly Azerbaijani populated Kalavan became known to the world due to Armenians

July 15,2017 14:38

Within the past 3-4 years, Kalavan village, which was “cut off from the world,” became known to the world through “stone age culture”, abandoned houses, and richness of nature. Robert Ghukasyan, who was displaced with his family at the age of 9, from the city of Sumgait, Azerbaijan, decided to develop the village with the talents of the villagers. Now Kalavan has a demand of 10 thousand tourists. “There is no community that cannot develop”, says Robert. The road leading to Kalavan, to paradise, is devastated but demanded.
