On July 15, at around 20:00, many families in Odzun community of Lori region incurred losses because of a strong lightning. Samvel Perekhanyan’s family suffered from the lightning the most. All the equipment has been damaged, about 110 square meters of roof, windows and so on: “The TV had broken into pieces in the house, all electrical equipment, the wires of the house had been damaged. Fortunately, they had managed to prevent fire outbreak in the house. In any case, the family suffered great losses”, said the head of Odzun community Arsen Titanyan.
Besides the Perekhanyans’ family, other families in the neighbourhood were damaged as well. “Some of these people’s electrical equipment has also been broken. Fortunately, there are no human casualties. Now we want to see how to make compensation for property damage”, said the head of the community.
The lightning also damaged the electricity and gas meters of many families, which also resulted in a fire. Fortunately, there were no casualties. Arsen Titanyan said that a commission has already been set up to clarify the amount of caused damage: “We have made an inventory, it will be fully calculated and we will understand the extent of the damage. We will submit a copy to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, another copy to the regional administration, and see what response we will receive”.
