Vladimir Gasparyan pays tribute to police officers killed in police station

Candles were lit from the early morning in front of the police station yesterday. The police officers together with their families – women and children, put flowers at the plaque of their colleagues Police Colonel Arthur Vanoyan, Lieutenant Yuri Tepanosyan and Senior Sergeant Gagik Mkrtchyan killed in police station a year ago, bowed their head and paid tribute to. Inside the police station an event was organized in the memory of them, in which Chief of Police Vladimir Gasparyan, over 20 MPs, including the Sspokesman of the National Assembly – Eduard Sharmazanov, political and public figures David Shahnazaryan, Vazgen Manukyan and others participated. The high ranking officials avoided of giving any comment or evaluation.

Valeri Osipyan, who was taken a hostage in the police station during those days avoided of the journalists as well, he told it was a silence day and he did not want to answer any question.

Chief of Police Vladimir Gasparyan put two red cloves at the plaques of the killed police officers, did the sign of the cross, hit his chest with his hand for several times as a sign of the pain of the loss and left. The Head of Police Information Department Ashot Aharonyan was asked why Vladimir Gasparyan avoided of the journalists. He replied: “The Chief of Police never avoids, today is an event to the respect of the memory and every person decides by himself what to do. You have had opportunities to ask the Chief of Police questions for numeral times, you will have in the near future alike, be patient.”
