Pursuant to the latest data by the National Statistical Service of the Republic of Artsakh, during January to May, compared to the same months of the previous year, the industry has grown by 43%.
The President of the National Statistical service of the Republic of Artsakh Karen Nersisyan notes that throughout the first 5 months of the year the volume of the whole industrial output has amounted to over 29 million AMD compared to over 20 million of the same period of the previous year, thus accounting for 43% growth.
As it is stated by the president of the Service, dividing by braches, the production from mining industry and exploitation of open pits has increased by 71%, the processing industry production by 6% and electricity, gas and quality air supply by 13%.
According to him, one of the main types of industrial production, electricity production has registered a low growth, 138.6 million kWh, compared to 137.1 million kWh of the same period of the previous year, and the production of the metallurgical concentrate industry has amounted to 21383 tons compared to the same period of the previous year, accounting for 319% growth.
Speaking of the work carried out by the National Statistical Service within the recent years, Karen Nersisyan mentions: “During the previous several years we have had a progress in the work we carry out: we count the economic activity index, foreign trade and consumption index, conduct integrated surveys on household living conditions due to which we are able to have actual information about poverty and unemployment. We have an agreement with the Central Bank of Armenia, pursuant to which information on macro economic and financial index is provided.”
Mr. Nersisyan states that the possibilities of agricultural widespread census and electronic reporting installation realization are in a phase of discussion now.
