On July 20, the government of the Republic of Armenia approved the technical task of creating a unified transportation network. Minister of Transport, Communication, and Information Technologies Vahan Martirosyan said that the adoption of the project is conditioned by the necessity to provide transport services throughout the republic.
Since October 2014, the Noyemberyan-Yerevan and the opposite direction minibus route has not been operating. “Bagratashen customs warehouse” LLC was carrying out minibus trips on the mentioned route.
For two and a half years the transportation of passengers from the border town of Noyemberyan to the capital and the opposite direction is carried out only by taxi. It creates many inconveniences for passengers: taxi fare is more expensive compared to minibuses, arrival and departure times are not known, on the way taxis stop for gas-filling, there are young, inexperienced drivers among the taxi drivers, and so on.
