Armenia has ratified the European Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, thus recognizing the jurisdiction of the European Court of Human Rights.
According to the data published by the European Court of Human Rights, 75 verdicts have been issued against Armenia before 2016, 68 of which contained at least 1 violation of right, and there has been no violation of rights in 5 of them, and two other verdicts have been issued.
According to the ECHR, the Republic of Armenia has violated 119 Articles of the Convention. In particular, it has violated the right to fair trial for 32 times, the right to liberty and security for 27 times, protection of property for 16 times. According to the published data, the Republic of Armenia has shown inhuman or degrading treatment for 9 times, and for 8 times it has violated the right to freedom of assembly and association.
