In response to the question of Aravot.am at a press conference, whether the rumours that some of our 16-year-old girls and boys, who have participated in the European “C” Division Basketball Championship, already have invitations from Europe and the United States, are true, Hrachya Rostomyan, President of the Armenian Basketball Federation, said, “The rumours are true. If I am not mistaken, currently 15-16 boys and girls are invited from American universities. And from the university championships to the NBA is one step only. That’s good for our basketball players’ growth.
It’s important for them to go through that school. If we look at this from the perspective of the national team, this is very beneficial for us if these children learn and train there. Believe me, our basketball players will progress there very fast, and we will have a stronger team. I only welcome, and I will be glad if it turns out so. As president of the federation, I definitely will not create any obstacles but will help them, will support them”.
