Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Arman Navasardyan believes that Armenian diplomacy has had two major gaps in the past 25 years: not opening Israeli embassy in Armenia, and leaving Artsakh out of the negotiation process.
“If the second is very difficult to correct, the first is relatively easy. Israel is the country which can be beneficial for us in several areas: IT, medicine, adoption of immigration prevention model, etc”, said the diplomat.
Let us remind that, at the invitation of Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, Israeli Regional Cooperation Minister Tzachi Hanegbi was in Armenia on a three-day official visit. He has been the government minister in charge of intelligence and security affairs for several years in his country. The Israeli official in Yerevan stated that a “breakthrough” has appeared in the Armenian-Israeli relations.
According to Arman Navasardyan, the breakthrough in the Armenian-Israeli relations now is conditioned by a number of geopolitical factors. The ambassador considers it wrong that Armenia’s foreign policy bases on three problems: Genocide recognition, Armenian-Turkish relations, and Artsakh issue. According to him, there are many other issues, and leaving those unsolved we also lose in these matters.
