On August 13, at about 11 am, we noticed several fires on the edge of the Azatamut-Kayan highway of state importance on our way to Berd. There was no one to put it out. The fire had burned the fields, blackberry bushes, walnut and other trees were sweltered.
Noyemberyan firefighters’ and rescuers’ brigade told us that 3 hectares of grass-covered area burnt on August 13 in the “Gardush” district of Berdavan village. A firefighters’ brigade arrived and the fire was extinguished. The same brigade reported that on August 13, 300 hectares of grassland area burnt in Bagratashen, 300 pomegranate and fig trees and 20 peach trees belonging to Bagratashen resident Sashik Badalyan were sweltered. A firefighters’ brigade arrived and the fire was extinguished.
Residents of the village of Debedavan, next to Bagratashen village, said that the fire that broke out on August 13 threatened to spread towards the village, but Debedavan residents united and managed to extinguish the fire.
