Finnish police have shot a man after stabbings in the southern city of Turku. An unknown number of people were injured. Deutsche Welle reports.
Finnish police shot a man who reportedly stabbed several people in the city of Turku 160 kilometers (99 miles) west of Helsinki on Friday afternoon.
Local media say several people were stabbed.
“Police shot the suspected perpetrator in the legs,” police wrote on Twitter. “The person has been arrested. We recommend that people avoid central Turku.”
Police did not confirm the number of victims in the stabbing attack.
Security has been increased at Helsinki airport and train stations.
