Several days ago, Turkish Economy Minister Nihar Zeybekchi stated that Turkey wants to sign an agreement with the EAEU o the free-trade zone, which will focus on services and investments.
Russian political scientist Modest Kolerov said in an interview with “Zhoghovurd” that this has been talked about for a long time now, even before the destruction of the Russian aircraft on Syrian border by Turkey. Eurasian Economic Union already has a similar agreement with Vietnam, it’s a big market. The same is assumed in this case”, he said. As for the prospects of Azerbaijan’s accession to the EAEU, according to Kolerov, it would be logical if Azerbaijan also wants to sign such an agreement, however, all the decisions in the EAEU are made by consensus, and Armenia will be against it. “It means that it will not receive a consent to have such an agreement”, he said.
