“Today, the Armenian government must take practical steps from declarative statements in the military capabilities of the entire Armenian army. In a short time the army must become the modern component of the Armenian people, that will force our enemy to reckon with the existence of a free, sovereign Artsakh state and recognize it”, Karen Ohanjanyan, co-chair of the Republican Party of Artsakh, coordinator of the NKR Committee of the “Helsinki Initiative-92”, laureate of international peace and human rights awards, told “Aravot”.
“In current conditions, considering the geopolitical situation, I do not think that the negotiation process can lead to the solution of the problem, especially, when the Armenian Foreign Ministry is deprived of any initiative and in practice does nothing for the international recognition of Artsakh. The negotiations should be carried out on the recognition of the Republic of Artsakh by Azerbaijan. Today Azerbaijan is not able to take such a step. Therefore, the solution to the problem is in our hands, it is in the hands of our strong army, our prosperity and power that is not subject to external pressure”, noted Karabakh human rights defender.
