There are no restrictions on selling mugham CDs”, said a member of the “Yelq” faction of the Yerevan Council of Elders Arayik Harutyunyan, referring to the proposal of “Yelq” to ban rabis music.
Arayik Harutyunyan said that the document, which he had published, referred exclusively the rabis music playing in Vernissage. According to Harutyunyan, Vernissage is an object under the City Hall administration, and tourists get acquainted with Armenian culture, art, and craft first of all in Vernissage, so the City Hall can dictate what kind of environment should exist in Vernissage.
Harutyunyan also assured that “Yelq” will propose to discuss the idea of a joint ticket in a unified transport system.
Member of the “Yelq” faction David Khazhakyan touching upon the faction’s proposal to rename the streets, said, that soon they will also discuss MP of Republican Party of Armenia, Eduard Sharmazanov’s proposal to rename Frunze’s street.
Let us remind that “Yelq” offers to rename Mikoyan, Kasyan and Leningradyan streets: this proposal was strongly criticized. Khazhakyan, referring to the criticism, noticed: “If we value the statehood, then we have a public management, where everything is in compliance with the people valuing the statehood”.
According to council member, in the public transport sector “Yelq” faction has offered to have separate lines for bus traffic, and now the international consultant organization discusses whether which streets have such possibility. According to Khazhakyan, the organization has already found such streets.
The council members said that the issue of one of the program provisions of “Yelq”, the construction of the Ajapnyak Metro station is in force. “Yelq” members have found out that Ajapnyak tunnels are ready: “This is the question that, unfortunately, we can only lobby. Soon this issue will become a subject of public discussion”.
On the issue of the possibility to cooperate with the “Yerkir Tsirani”, Arayik Harutyunyan said, that the possibility is gradually decreasing, taking the statements of the “Yerkir Tsirani” head Zaruhi Postanjyan into account.
