An old church in Voskepar frontline has a bell now

On September 10, a bell has been consecrated and put in 7th century St. Mary church located nearby the Armenian defense positions of Voskepar frontline. It has been molded in 1891 in Tula city of Russia. The image of St. Mary has been put in the church. The 2 doors and candlesticks have been consecrated lately as well. The church has undergone some upgrade similarly, the plants grown on the roof have been removed, and the cracks on the walls have been filled in. Bats would enter and pollute. Now the church has windows, the bats cannot penetrate any longer.

Consecration ceremony has been conducted by the Leader of Tavush Diocese of Armenian Apostolic Church, Bishop Bagrat Galstanyan, with the participation of Priest Hrayr Bejanyan, Priest Smbat Abrahamyan, Priest Simeon Arakelyan. The Governor of enlarged Noyemberyan community, Karen Abazyan, the head of Tavush branch of The Writers’ Union of Armenia, Samvel Beglaryan, the administrative leaders of Voskepar and the nearby villages, Voskepar residents, frontline soldiers have taken part in the event. At the end, an oblation has been served.

The administrative leader of Voskepar, Serob Makhsurdyan stated that the event has taken place in a high level. From now onwards church St. Mary become an operating church: ceremonies will be held there.

The church located on the frontline is the stone evidence of our old history. It gives the Armenian front-keeping soldiers a spiritual power.
