The Head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, General-Lieutenant Movses Hakobyan was asked about his opinion on the surrender of the territories, relative to which the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Eduard Nalbandian had made an announcement as well. Movses Hakobyan answered that the military leadership does not conduct negotiations, it is the responsibility of the political authorities.
Asked whether the army will oppose to the surrender of the territories, Movses Hakobyan replied: “The army will implement whatever is decided by the political authorities.”
To the question implying whether there are no territories which will not threaten to the security and we can surrender them, Movses Hakobyan replied: “Moreover, we need more territories which will guarantee the security of our republic.”
Speaking about the weapons supplied to Azerbaijan, Movses Hakobyan assured that Armenia acquires weapons enough to provide the security of our country.
