“In New York the co-chairs have spoken about organizing a meeting at the presidential level in the near future and the visit of the co-chairs to the region. We expect them in the first half of October. They will come to the Republic of Armenia to prepare the meeting of the presidents. Only Azerbaijan can say what offers have aroused its interest”, told the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Edward Nalbandian, referring to the announcement made by Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs holding that Azerbaijan supports the “interesting suggestions” of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs.
He also addressed to his announcement relative to the surrender of the territories made during “Armenia-Diaspora” Conference. “I have not spoken about any certain territories or solely this issue, but overall, 3 principles and 6 elements comprised in 5 announcements of the co-chairs, which, according to the characterization of the co-chairs, are a single unity. Separating them from each other will make the resolution impossible, which Azerbaijan tries to do. I had also mentioned about the multi-layer guarantees of security. I do not know why they have split my words and made a sensation out of them. We quietly conduct our policy, our approaches correspond to the suggestions of the co-chairs which we have accepted as a basis for negotiations. Azerbaijan also rejects this”, explained Nalbandian.
He also commented on the referendum in Iraqi Kurdistan: “We expect Iraqi authorities and regional authorities of Iraqi Kurdistan to avoid of tension and to find an opportunity to solve the present issues.”
