On October 23, a press conference was invited dedicated to the launch of “Best of British Education” educational exhibition, the speakers of which were the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Republic of Armenia, Judith Farnworth and the director of the Armenian branch of the British Council, Arevik Saribekyan. Ms. Saribekyan mentioned that “Best of British Education” educational exhibition which is organized within the context of the events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Armenian-British diplomatic relations, is a wonderful opportunity to the professionals of various fields, as well as for students and pupils to get acquainted with the opportunities to receive a quality British education in the United Kingdom, Armenia and elsewhere, professional development and training programmes, education of English language and testing programmes.
She also added that due to the educational exhibition Armenian students will be able to get familiar with the opportunities provided by the United Kingdom.
Ambassador Farnworth emphasized the scholarships provided by Chevening and John Smith Fellowship educational programmes in particular. “I have been working in Armenia for 2 years and I have noticed that the Armenian families highly value education. I am also very happy that the interest of the British universities in developing ties with the universities of the Republic of Armenia gradually increases. I am happy that the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Armenia is interested in applying British experience aiming to improve the education of the English language in schools”, informed the Ambassador.
Let us also mention that “Best of British Education” educational exhibition will take place on October 25 in “Armenia Marriott” hotel. Books of famous British publishing houses will be represented, presentations of various programmes will take place and the participants will have an opportunity to win awards by taking part in “Treasure Hunt” competition.
