“Aravot” has combined the meetings of the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan and the number of victims in the Army of Armenia from 2008 to 2016. The sources of the data and the figures of death toll in the Army of Armenia are: Civilnet, Military Prosecutor’s Office and the Ministry of Defence.
In 2008 Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev met 2 times, in Saint Petersburg and Moscow. In that year the death toll in the Army has amounted to 71.
In 2009 the Presidents met 9 times and the death toll in the Army accounted for 43.
In 2010 three presidential meetings have taken place, 54 death toll was recorded in the Army of Armenia.
In 2011 two meetings were held between the Presidents, and 39 death toll recorded on the border.
In 2012, as well as in 2013, the Presidents met for 1 time and in 2012 the death toll amounted to 36 and in 2013 – 30.
In 2014 Sargsyan and Aliyev met 3 times and 44 death toll was in place.
In 2015 the Presidents met for 1 time, and the number of the victims accounted for 57.
In 2016 two meetings between the Presidents of the Republics of Armenia and Azerbaijan took place – in Vienna and Saint Petersburg. Death toll on the border – 147.
Thus, 2008 onwards the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan have met for 24 times, during that course of time the death toll in the Army of Armenia has accounted for 521.
