November 10,2017 15:36

A group of parents from Kindergarten No. 2 of the city of Vedi, have met with mayor Varouzhan Barseghyan. Ararat municipality representative was also present in the meeting. The parents of Kindergarten No. 2 of Vedi have been complaining of the principal of the kindergarten, Sveta Manjoyan’s work and regularly informing the mayor about it both in written and orally for already several years. Nevertheless, as stated by the parents, their complaints are not given a proper process to, reasoning it with the lack of facts. The parents tell that they neither dismiss the principal, not give a warning. According to them, notwithstanding that they pay 5000 AMD fee per month, the Directorate of the kindergarten collects money for everything: “Parents buy from kitchen towels to curtains, TVs, chairs of the concert hall. They collect money for theatrical performances, it is still okay, but when they put the economic issues on the shoulders of the parents, it already irritates. 2 years ago they collected money for putting TVs in groups, but one does not know why it appeared in the room of the principal. The linen warns out, it is parents who are taken money from, to buy new ones. They collected 1000 AMD from each parent for the curtains of the concert hall, but the cloth which they had bought  perhaps did not cost even 500 AMD.”

The biggest concern of the parents is connected with the food of the children. As they depicted, especially during the last days of the week, the food which is supposed to go to the children is taken, and the children are fed with the quantity of food not corresponding to the menu: “Once they came and checked, it appeared there was a bread shortage of 8 kilograms. The mayor told he would deal with this, would give a reprimand.”

The parents were stating that after a series of calls and complaints nothing has changed. Mr. Barseghyan was hearing the parents when we called for the interview. Asked whether a procedure would be initiated relative to their complaints, especially, when the parents state that manifold appeals have not given a result, Varouzhan Barseghyan replied they will set a compulsory control: “The municipality will set a daily control, it has been done, will be done, thus, there is no problem.”

The mayor informed he had clarified the issues voiced by the parents and found out that fake information was also in place: “After my order, all issues voiced by the parents have never repeated. In case of repeating, it is natural that they will be punished.”

Asked whether the principal was going to stay in office, Mr. Barseghyan replied that there were no facts to dismiss or punish the principal: “It is the 3rd time the representatives of the Regional Government have made a joint investigation and do not give any grounds to even give a reprimand to the principal. Where there is work, there is also a deficiency. I do not think there is a field where there is work and no deficiency. We will focus on correcting the defects. They are shortcomings which cannot affect the general work.”
