The signing of Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement was succeeded by announcements on the necessity to make the anti-corruption fight stricter by the President of the country. Asked whether he sees a connection between these two events, Ambassador Piotr Switalski, the Head of European Union Delegation to Armenia, replied: “Frankly, I believe that the recent statements were very strong and were very important for Armenia. There is reflection of natural processes taking place in Armenia. So I don’t find any link to the agreement signed. But as I said on other occasions, this agreement comes at a good time so that these strong and important can receive additional backup, additional support through the cooperation with the European Union.”
