The announcement by the U.S. President Donald Trump whereby he recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of Israel again fuels the tension in the Middle East, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, informs iranologist Vardan Voskanyan.
“Israeli-Palestinian conflict had transferred from heated phase to the peaceful one. The fire of Syrian-Iraqi conflict was being extinguished gradually, but an attempt is made towards burning the smoldering conflict again by some forces and spreading their own influence through this way. The Middle East is a sensitive point where any given action can result in clashes. Working by suchlike methodology is a rough mistake. Disseminating chaos is succeeded, but to rule – not”, explains the expert.
He notices – Jerusalem is a capital to 3 religions, to which the Christianity has brought the biggest fame: “It is a big mistake not to take into consideration the factor of Christians, Armenian included, while deciding on the future of the city. One of the 4 districts of Jerusalem belongs to Armenians and we cannot be indifferent towards that fact.”
