My parents have brought me up with some belief, and I am grateful them for that lesson. The latter can be formulated as follows: your teachers, your heads, people around you, all those on whom in one way or another your fate depends might not love you, might envy you, be jealous of you, might look for flaws in you, and exaggerate those flaws, etc. But if you are good in your studies, in your work they will have to accept your merits. Conventionally put, if you have done your homework assignment for “4”, they might grade you “3”, but if you have prepared as good as for “5+”, they cannot not to grade you “5”.
If we bring up our children teaching them the belief from very young ages that it is only them who are responsible for all types of their large and small failures and no one else, I am sure we will live in a different country.
Today the whole Armenian nation is discussing the fate of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, a talented, hardworking, exemplary young man in all respects. They say, “the coach of “Manchester United”, Mourinho takes a revenge of Mkhitaryan for not recognizing him as the best coach. That is why he has removed the Armenian footballer from the main team. I believe that may be true.
But let us look at the problem from the other side: if Henrikh performed an absolute, unsurpassed game, bringing substantial benefits to the team, would not Mourinho restrain his bad, cruel character and strive for Mkhitaryan’s game to bring glory to “Manchester” coach and his team? I do not doubt that Henrikh realizes this better than anyone else, and this is the key to his future success in “Manchester” or in any other leading team.
It is hard to explain this to fans. I recall that about two years ago I heard from someone: “Mourinho takes money from Turks not to let Mkhitaryan play”). It is the peculiarity of the Armenian mentality, the formulation of which is as follows: “I would become a successful businessman (actor, scientist, journalist, baker), but “this country”, “this government”, “these injustices”, my boss, my colleagues, geographical position of Armenia, the Genocide committed 100 years ago hinder me”. In short, everyone is responsible for my failures, apart from me.
I read somewhere, that if you have stopped at a red light and a car hits you from behind, it is not your fault. But it is your responsibility because it depends only on you how you will behave in that case.
