How can Constitutional reforms leave an influence on further political development of Armenia? This question was also included in the survey encompassing more than 100 questions in “Caucasus barometer 2017” published by Caucasus Research Resource Center (CRRC). To the aforementioned question, 46% of respondents have answered it has no influence, 12% have answered it will have a negative influence, 10% – a positive influence, 3% have mentioned about a very bad influence and 1% – a very positive influence.
Let us remind you that in 2017 the survey has been carried out in Armenia and Georgia, in randomly chosen 4027 households (1648 in Armenia and 2379 in Georgia). The results of the survey on public opinion have been carried out in South Caucasus 2004 onwards.
To another question, implying how fair the last elections were, 41% has responded that the elections were not fair at all, 33% has responded that the elections were partly fair, and for 10% they were completely fair.
Asked which the most important issue Armenia faces is, 36% of respondents have answered – unemployment, moreover, only 27% regarded unemployment as the most important issue in 2008. The next most important issues the Republic of Armenia faces are corruption, poverty, low pensions and etc., according to the citizens having participated in the survey.
The survey witnesses that the majority of Armenian residents have estimated the freedom of speech high as well. Asked whether people in Armenia have right to say what they think freely, 71% has answered yes, only 23% has given a negative response. Furthermore, in 2008, 68% gave a positive response and 28% a negative one.
