Asked how many people have been dismissed from National Opera Theatre since his appointment, the art director and the director of the National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet after Alexander Spendiaryan, Konstantin Orbelyan replied – they are approximately 20.
Armen Amiryan, the Minister of Culture also intervened in the conversation: “Today we speak not about the reduction of workplaces, but their assimilation to the actual reality. The formulations strictly differ”, explained the Minister, adding that at the Opera Theatre, the staff was a little bit “inflated”.
The Minister also referred to the buffet of the Opera Theatre, the topic of which had induced a scandal back then. “Unfortunately, we have not made an ultimate decision on which companies or organizations we will work with until now, but it is precise that a quality service should be in place for the theatre and audience visiting the theatre. I am hopeful that in 2018 we will bring to life the solution of that issue as well”, informed Armen Amiryan.
